The Shirvanshahs’ Palace is the former residence of the Shirvanshahs (rulers of Shirvan), located in the capital of Azerbaijan, the city of Baku. The construction of the palace was connected with the transfer of the capital of the Shirvanshah state from Shamakhi to Baku. The palace complex was built in the period from the XIII to the XVI century.
The most majestic and most mysterious monument of Baku is Gyz Galasy – the Maiden Tower, towering in the south-eastern part of the fortress of Icheri Sheher. In 1964 the Maiden Tower became a museum, and since 2000 it has been included in the list of UNESCO monuments.
Baku Museum of Miniature Books
Exhibits exhibited in the museum were collected by Tair Salakhov’s sister Zarifa Salakhova for almost 30 years. Her personal collection is 6500 books from 64 countries.
